India gained independence on 15 August 1947 but made its constitution in 1950. The day 26th January has been selected because it was the date of Poorna Swaraj. Indians declared the right to Poorna Swaraj on 26th January 1930. Because of the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters this was possible.

Good Morning!! Honorable Principal mam respected mam and sir my all colleagues. I would like to say thank you for giving me such a great opportunity to speak something on our Republic Day.
On 26th January, India celebrates the republic day every year. This year we have to celebrate 67th republic day. 26th January is so much grateful for us. As we all know on 15th August 1947, India became Independent still at that time we were not capable enough to run the whole nation, so a constituent gathering was formed, which included Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. It was on January 26th, 1950 that the constitution of India came into force and India became an actual ruler, Democratic, and republic country. So this day we have to celebrate the Republic Day of India. I wish to my all respected teacher, principal, chief guest and friends Happy 67th Republic Day.
Our name of our great Indian leaders and freedom fighters are Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri, etc. They fought continuously against the British rule to make India a free country. We can never forget their sacrifices towards our nation. We should remember them on such great occasions and salute them. It has become possible just because of them that we can think from our mind and live freely in our nation without anyone’s force. Dr. Abdul Kalam has said that “If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel three key societal members can make a difference. They are the Father, the Mother, and the Teacher”.
As a citizen of the country, we should think seriously about it and do all possible efforts to lead our nation.Thank You.

First of all, I would like you the make familiar with the meaning of Republic, and the word republic represents the system of ruling or government in which the people elect the supreme leader of a country. (In case of India – the President), Therefore, summarizing the meaning of the word we can say that republic means by the will of people.
But the system of democracy in India did not come from word of mouth, and it originates from the aching hearts of the millions of Indian. After the centuries-long foreign rule in the country (India) and dull pains of the people as it became evident to make Indian free from the external control so it also became inevitable to make a system of government in which the freedom and other rights of the Indian people can secure in an ultimate way. Therefore, the system of Indian Republic became indispensable in the context of India. But the Indian Republic Day (26th January) also marked a milestone in the history of India, which is the enactment of the Indian constitution (which has enacted on 26th January 1950). Constitution of India is the written security of the rights of People from the governmental tyranny.
Today, we have come a long way in future from the first anniversary of Indian Republic Day, our country in these years have achieved a lot of abnormal development and a unique place in the world, but still, a lot more to be done. The actual meaning/ ideals of the democracy are yet to achieved at all the levels. Our leaders, those who fought for Indian freedom, those who sacrificed everything they had in the course of Indian freedom, have always been the source of our inspiration for the service to this motherland. Now, the time is ours we have to make our country more peaceful and to take it to the pinnacle of prosperity, and this will be our tribute to our leaders and our service to this country.
Peace with you all, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.
